The K2 Disruption 78 C Skis + M3 11 Compact Quikclik Bindings are all rip it, but without the grip it. Thanks to the lightweight stiffness provided by their carbon fiber backbone, these skis provide speed and power on the hardpack without the feeling that you’re on a runaway train and you’ve just got to hang on to survive. When pushed, they can produce beautiful high speed carved turns, but despite that, they’re a fairly forgiving ski. Perfect for riders with a burgeoning corduroy addiction, or casual skiers with solid technique who love to rip groomers with their friends and family.

Dark Matter Damping– Space. The final frontier. The object of many a child’s fascination. And yet with so much of this supra terra discovery, there’s still so much to uncover. K2 has harnessed this great unknown —these depths beyond the conception of gravity as we know it — to improve edge contact on rough and firm snow. It’s called Dark Matter Damping — a process in where a polymeric damper is sandwiched between two layers of high modulus carbon, and strategically placed along the ski edge. While your grasp of the outer reaches of our celestial sphere may be limited, DMD is a much simpler construct: improved edge grip and control. And with more grip and control, you can push faster, harder, and pull in to the turn like never before. Get ready for liftoff, it’s time to rage.

Carbon I-Beam– Carbon runs tip to tail along the center of the ski, optimally shaped for stability and precision through the entire turn.

Sidewalls

PowerWall– Power transfer is dramatically enhanced with the oversized ABS sidewalls that are laminated and pocketed within the woodcore in the midbody of the ski. With the sidewall extending into the heart of the ski, the transmission of energy from skier to ski edge is direct and precise.

Terrain: Carving, All-Mountain CarvingFor those that like the classic feeling of laying a ski over on edge and arcing a perfect turn, carving skis are what you want. These skis have narrower waists and shorter turn radii for edge to edge quickness and responsive turn initiation and exit on groomed runs and hard pack. The beginner-intermediate skis in this category are designed to make learning how to turn as easy as going from pizza to French fries. All-MountainAll-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm.

Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced Intermediate-AdvancedWhether you’re a progressing intermediate exploring new runs and terrain, or an accomplished rider seeking new thrills, the majority of skiers and snowboarders fall into this level. Intermediate to advanced skis and snowboards may be somewhat wider or stiffer than beginner-intermediate skis and snowboards, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Intermediate to advanced boots and bindings range from softer flexing freestyle options to stiffer choices built for stability at speed.

Rocker Type: Camber CamberCamber is the traditional profile for skis offering skiers lots of edge hold, especially on harder snow. A cambered ski has a smooth arch underfoot and contact points near the tip and tail when unweighted. Camber skis excel at carving on hard snow; you won’t ever see a ski racer on anything other than cambered skis.

Turning Radius: Short Short< 16 m radius is best for carving.

Tail Type: Flat FlatThis is your traditional tail, designed to have edge contact all the way through the tail, and only designed for skiing forward. This is also preferred for alpine touring, as you can stick the tails of your skis in the snow.
