Ok, now we’re talking. Take the proven Rustler 9 platform, substitute a carbon and fiberglass DRT laminate for the Titanal one to drop weight but keep the classic Blizzard edgehold and precision, and BAM, you’ve got a ripper’s delight that’s light enough to tour on but still has the guts to serve as your daily driver. The new Blizzard Hustle 9 Skis are the droids you seek.

Rocker Type

Rocker Camber Rocker– Ski profile with rocker at the tip and tail, camber in the middle. Reducing the pressure on the edge at the tip and tail makes the ski even easier to handle and increases flotation on powder snow. The camber guarantees great grip on packed snow.

Shape

Shape Concept– Progressive wide body style with an aggressive radius. Early rise tail designed to be playful in softer snow.

Core

TrueBlend Free Core– Combining Beech, Poplar and Paulownia woods in a uniquely balanced blend that’s tailored to the performance needs of each Hustler ski, the TrueBlend Free cores are labor-intensive but worth the extra effort.

Carbon Flipcore Technology– A revolutionary rockered ski production process that incorporates a uni-directional carbon frame onto the core of the ski that results in great performance with a light and easy feel.

Carbon D.R.T.– The Dynamic Release Technology concept has been thoroughly tested and enthusiastically approved by users of the Rustler series skis, and the carbon iteration pushes the D.R.T. concept even further. Using a shorter Carbon and fiberglass insert rather than Titanal allows Blizzard to keep the strength and stability with less weight.

We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.

Terrain: All-Mountain, Alpine Touring All-MountainAll-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm. Alpine TouringAlso known as backcountry skis, alpine touring (AT) skis are designed for going uphill as well as downhill. These skis are typically light for their width and many feature fittings that accept climbing skins. AT skis vary in width and weight, with the wider heavier versions usually used for winter/deep snow touring and the skinnier, lighter skis usually used for spring/summer/long distance touring.

Ability Level: Intermediate-Advanced Intermediate-AdvancedWhether you’re a progressing intermediate exploring new runs and terrain, or an accomplished rider seeking new thrills, the majority of skiers and snowboarders fall into this level. Intermediate to advanced skis and snowboards may be somewhat wider or stiffer than beginner-intermediate skis and snowboards, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Intermediate to advanced boots and bindings range from softer flexing freestyle options to stiffer choices built for stability at speed.

Rocker Type: Rocker/Camber/Rocker Rocker/Camber/RockerRocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as well as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.

Turning Radius: Short Short< 16 m radius is best for carving.

Tail Type: Partial Twin Tip Partial Twin TipPartial twin tip skis have a tail that is turned up, but not as much as the tip. This gives you the ability to ski backwards and back out of tight spaces, but these skis are mainly designed to ski forward.
